As one of only four clubs to have hosted the Ryder Cup, Walker Cup and Curtis Cup, it is of no surprise that Ganton is ranked in the top 80 courses worldwide. The site of the course used to be a North Sea inlet, giving it all the characteristics of a Links course as well as a Heathland. Gary Player once said that Ganton is the only inland course worthy of holding the Open Championship.

beau desert.jpg
Beau Desert
A Herbert Fowler design, commissioned by The Marquess of Anglesey in 1913. Beau Desert is certainly not a long course, measuring in at just over 6400 yards from the back tees, however its very tight, requiring accuracy off the tee, with very quick undulating greens. Every hole here is isolated and unique, you can easily loose yourself out in the trees here.
